My best friend since the second grade, Meredith Miller, was gunned down in the parking lot of her apartment building in Virginia. Two men attempted to abduct her in a carjacking. She was able to break free of them and was shot in the back as she attempted to flee. She died in that parking lot from her injuries. Her death was absolutely senseless and has caused immeasurable pain to those who knew and loved her. I miss her every day.
