In memory of Lt. Jim Pagano, Cranston RI www.jimpaganofoundation.com

In 2008 my brother Jimmy hosted a birthday party for his 9-year-old son on the beautiful cul de sac where they lived. A tennis ball the children were playing with hit the next-door neighbor’s car. The neighbor, a retired cop, came out of the house in a rage, verbally assaulting the kids who were playing and cursing at them uncontrollably. Jimmy went next door to confront the neighbor about the overreaction, and the neighbor chased him down the driveway, firing three shots at him, the first being the fatal one. Cause of gun violence: an errant tennis ball. RIP my dear brother.

Reacting shows support for gun violence survivors.
