A Mothers Love Will Never Die

In memory of Juan McMahan

My first child, Juan, was a very compassionate, courageous, brave, proud big brother and momma boy with a bright, beautiful smile. Charming as can be. Juan was a true ladies’ man. He enjoyed playing football, chess, dancing, working with computers and family times. He had a passion for rap music, 50 Cent was his No. 1 rap artist. To know Juan was to know he had excellent leadership skills. Juan had many dreams — to be a truck driver, youth counselor and entrepreneur. He was also a father, but never saw his son, Je’. But all of that changed for him when his life was taken in Baltimore during an attempted robbery, in which he was shot in the leg and head on July 14, 2004, and died. Juan was 17 years old.
