My daughter Alyssa, age 18, was killed in a mass shooting at a park in Flint, Michigan, in August 2021. She and another young life were taken and four others shot while gathering together socially. She was a college honor student, ready to begin her sophomore year at Michigan State University. Her kindness and smile always lit up a room! Our family, her friends and the community will never forget her love of life and kindness towards others. She was like a butterfly who touched the lives of others more than she knew. We try to be just like her and have a positive effect on other’s lives each day! When we have an exceptionally difficult day, we do random acts of kindness in her memory, just as she would do! We will be forever changed, and she will be forever in our hearts.
