My daughter Angellyh Yambo was 16 years old when she was killed. We just celebrated her Sweet 16 in January. Angellyh was on her way home from school when she was caught in a crossfire and was shot, killing her instantly. My daughter left a void in my life and for an entire nation; I miss my daughter every single day, and I’m broken into a million pieces.
Today, I share my story and stand firm to bring justice for my butterfly. I’m going to stay strong to make sure her legacy lives on forever. I will stand up and bring change to our youth by creating a movement. My daughter was a beautiful soul who was taken too soon, and she didn’t get a chance to live her life and achieve her goals.
