In honor of Kim Donnelly

My brother Timmy Donnelly and sister-in-law Kim were killed 14 years ago yesterday, when a heroin addict came into their jewelry store with a stolen gun to rob them.

I met Kim when I was 8 years old. She was 16 and had started dating my brother, who was also 16. Our family is large and heavy on boys. As an 8-year-old and second youngest of 10, it was noisy and even to me overwhelming at times. When Kim came over in her hip clothes, her all-in laugh and great sense of fun and humor, driving her cool car, my brothers all behaved, they were quieter, nicer…I think we were all falling in love. I know I was!!! I still hear her laugh. ?
