Matthew was driving home from work and was stopped at a red light when a man who was high on bath salts pulled up beside him and shot him in the face. The man had also shot at another motorist earlier, but luckily, the bullet did not hit him.
We never think something like this will happen to our loved one until it does.
There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think about him and wonder what he would be doing now. He was only 28 and was looking forward to having a family someday.
Our family has been changed forever by this senseless murder. I now know why people who have lost a child say they now have only moments of happiness. Once you lose a child, your world is never the happy place it was before. You always carry that loss.
