I have been a victim of gun violence, and so have some of my loved ones. I have seen gun violence affect my mother, being robbed at gunpoint; my brother, being robbed at gunpoint as well; a close friend, being shot due to gun violence. I’ve lost a family member to gun violence as well as having been a victim of gun violence myself. I’ve seen firsthand how gun violence displaces and disturbs your life and the life of others around you. It leaves many in a constant state of fear and anxiety that could easily be avoided by stricter gun laws and regulations.
