On October 5, 2016, my almost 4-year-old grandson, Logan, was murdered by his mother. She shot him in the head and then turned the gun on herself. It was a murder/suicide. She used a shotgun that was supposedly locked up in her parents’ home, where they lived. She had suffered from depression and was mentally ill. Her parents knew this and yet kept guns in the home, even after she had threatened suicide. My life as I knew it ended the day this precious child was murdered.
