My kids’ dad/my partner was shot five times in May 2018. Our lives has changed drastically. He went out and never came home. I kept calling his phone for him to return home, and no answer; then I got a call that he was shot. I still can’t believe this has happened to him. Why would someone do this? Why should my kids suffer and live without the only father they had and loved? I feel so alone, and the suspects are out on bail. This made me want to get involved in every stop gun violence movement. I am his voice now, and we need justice. We need a change in the communities.
