I was 16 years old and I was outside with some friends in St. Louis. All of a sudden a rash of bullets hit us all. I was hit in my leg and across my shoulder. I was paralyzed in my left leg for months. I was a musical theater student, so this was discouraging, but I worked hard to get functional again.
