I lost my niece Stephie in 2009 to gun violence. She was 21, she was asleep in her own bed. I still miss her, the possibilities of the many things she’d have done. She had a heart of gold, a wicked sense of humor. I hope she’s dancing in the skies. If I didn’t think that way, I’d cry every day.
