A fellow homeschooling family who lived a few houses away suffered the loss of their father to suicide by a gun. He was experiencing difficulty (lost his home), but he would be OK. Except he found an old gun and used it to end his life, leaving four children and his mother and wife behind. He was a gifted and talented artist who adored his wife and kids. I know he would be here today if not for a gun. I will never forget the day we learned he had died and our world changed forever.
