Benitez Family

In memory of Ronnie Benitez

Ronnie was our blood; our everything. Ronnie was such a bright light in everyone’s life. He was incredibly loved by so many. In an instant, a part of us was taken that we will never get back.

On October 30, 2022, my family’s lives were changed for the worst. My brother Ronnie was only 20 years old when he was shot and murdered outside our home. Instead of enjoying time with each other on Halloween, we were in mourning.

Three men came to our family party armed with guns. An argument broke out that eventually led to my little brother being shot and killed instantly. His life ended before he even hit the ground.

There’s no doubt in my mind that had those guns not been present that night, my brother would still be here with us. He would have celebrated his 21st birthday with us only two months later.

He would have continued his career as an electrician.

He would have grown as a man, gotten married, and had a family of his own. He would have lived a long, happy life. But because of a senseless act of gun violence, he’ll never get that chance. We love you forever, Ronnie.
