I lost my son on August 12, 2019. Branford was a fun-loving, energetic and creative young man. He was diagnosed with bipolar disorder his last year of high school. He was working on managing his disease. One of the things he did to help himself was to buy a dog from the pound. He named her Hope.
On August 11, he bought a gun. He then shot himself in the chest in the early morning of August 12, five days before his 25th birthday. It should not be that easy to buy a gun, especially for someone with a mental illness. I miss him so much.
