In honor of Maliqué Rashaune Richardson

Maliqué Rashaune Richardson — or Lique, as he was known — was a 25-year-old Marine who loved his family, friends and free time. During his free time, we traveled with the family,  went to see movies, and played video games together as an inseparable duo. Maliqué had many plans, from starting a YouTube channel to becoming a professional gamer and being the best uncle to his unborn niece. When some stranger took that from me suddenly, life became mundane and not worth living. On July 7th, 2022, Maliqué was shot multiple times after answering the front door, and I was left with the trauma. He was NOT in the wrong place at the wrong time, he was NOT in the streets being a nuisance, but he WAS always the light in a dark room. My story is his story, and I know if the roles were reversed, my boyfriend would do the same for me. It’s been a year now, and I am finally getting back on my feet. Fighting for two individuals instead of just one! I honor you with this post, Maliqué, as a sign that my only priority in life is to share your story with others. 🤍
