My name is Carmia Tang. My only child was born September 22, 1996. My only child was murdered September 3, 2017.
Jeremy loved football, water polo, dancing and cooking. He was a honor roll student at Miles College in Alabama. He received a $2500 scholarship from The United Negro College Fund. That was one of my proudest moments as a parent.
Jeremy was found with a gunshot wound to the chest in his vehicle. He died at Christ Hospital in Oaklawn, Illinois. The case has remained unsolved.
They took so much from me. I will never be a grandparent. I will never see my child get his college degree.
I wanted to share my story because so many people are affected.
