Carol

When I was 17, I used to work at my family’s mini-market after school. One day just like any other, I came to work after school. A few minutes after I arrived, a guy came in pointing a gun to me, threatening me to shoot me if I didn’t give him money. He walked to the cashier, and the whole time he had his gun pointed at me, aiming my head. He finally left, but he said that if I called the police, he would come back to kill me. I will never forget those horrifying moments. He went to jail next day, and eventually to prison. Twenty years has passed since that day, and I still remember very vividly. I don’t want anyone ever going through this, especially kids and teenagers. I want to fight so people don’t experience this.

Reacting shows support for gun violence survivors.
