Our beloved son, Charles “Chuck” Dennis, III was murdered at the age of 23 in Dallas, TX. Chuck was a 2022 graduate of Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Our son moved to Dallas to begin his career in accounting and was pursuing a master’s degree as well. On July 17, 2023 our son was walking to his apartment from a local convenient store with his snacks in his hand when the gun fire began. Over 70 rounds were fired and 3 of those stray bullets hit our son.
The devastating news shook our small rural community here in Louisiana. Chuck was loved by everyone who came in contact with him. He had a passion for music and earned his undergraduate degree in accounting on a band scholarship through SU Human Jukebox Marching Band.
Our son’s life was taken away from his family and friends. Our lives will never be the same. Our faith is strong and we have know doubt that one day justice will be served. Rest in peace son. We will continue to fight for you until those who are responsible are brought to justice. Love you forever son.
