Cheevers World

On June 12, 2019, my 19-year-old son Anthony Cheever was murdered during a quick stop at a park to see his friends on his way to work. Anthony worked 50 hours a week and rarely went out with friends. He was the one of his friends that worked hard to stay off the streets. But on June 12, 2019, he stopped to see some friends, and at 10 p.m. two kids on bikes came up. One had words with my son’s friend and pistol-whipped him. As the shooter came back up, he started firing. My son Anthony was hit by three out of four shots fired. My son was in the wrong place at the wrong time. All this was because of words exchanged between Anthony’s friend and the shooter earlier that day on social media. Anthony had no involvement and no idea that the argument even took place. My son lost his life due to a 16-year-old having access to multiple guns. The shooter ran the streets for months and was eventually caught because he murdered three people and shot two more, all in the month of June 2019. I lost my son, Anthony Cheever, June 12, 2019.
