My 14-year-old brother Akeal Christopher was my best friend. At a very young age, I had to deal with the painful effect of gun violence. Never once did I think that I would be a voice for my generation. I honor my brother’s legacy by speaking up and bringing awareness to the issue. My brother loved helping people, so I fundraise and donate school supplies, uniforms and food to those who are less fortunate because all I know is we cannot continue living like this. That is how I honor my big brother, my best friend.
