On July 14, 2017, my son, Maurice Hunter IV, was murdered here in the city of Chicago, and to date, there has been no arrest, no one questioned, NOTHING. Losing him has been the greatest heartbreak of my life. There are days that I sit on my front porch hoping that he will walk up, and that it was just a dream. But I know it is not a dream, it is reality … and that I’ll have to live with it for the rest of my life. Gun violence is destroying families. It must stop.
