I attended Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas. On the third and final night of the concert, our fifth day in Vegas, my best friend and I decided we would stay on the outskirts of the crowd that night. It’s a decision that will stick with me forever. The first sound of gunshots I believed were fireworks. My friend told me to run.
I will forever question every sound I hear, seek out an exit everywhere I go, wonder why someone is running past me. I will constantly wonder if something bad is about to happen to me or my kids or my family or my friends. I will never forget what I heard, saw, felt that night. I will never be the same. I’ve also learned how strong I am — how resilient l am.
