On March 18, 2012, my daughter DaShondra Guillory and her unborn son (she was pregnant), along with her boyfriend, was shot and killed at their home. DaShondra left behind two kids ages 2 and 4, which I am raising. The murderer was given 70 years and currently surviving now.
Giving back to those survivors of gun violence in 2015, we started and founded Surviving Parents Of SETX Organization, and we officially became a nonprofit organization in 2017. I became a certified grief coach and am working all over the world, helping those through their grief journey to find a place where pain can co-exist with joy. A place where it is safe to grieve and move from grief to hope together.
