I am reminded by gun violence with every step I take. I was shot in the foot in NYC in 1989. My foot hurts every day, and although I am very lucky to still have use of it, I almost had a double fusion of my joints last year and walk/live with pain. I joined Moms Demand Action the day that Newtown happened — a day none of us can ever forget. I am lucky to have a happy 8 year old and hold each and every parent who lost a child to gun violence dearly in my heart. I will continue to write, sign and fight for stricter gun laws until it finally happens.
