August 14, 2021, is a date I will forever curse. My beautiful son, Eddie, was murdered as he attempted to shield a friend. I heard the shots and began frantically calling his phone, but my spirit knew: A son, a father and a very beloved friend was taken. My life will never be in balance again. Eddie was so loved by his friends and community that they organized a petition to have a pathway in our community park named after him.
