Gabe loved his work for Congresswoman Giffords, he loved his fiancé, and he loved his hometown of Tucson, Arizona. He was 30 and on the go. But it all stopped on January 8, 2011, when he was shot in the head at a mass shooting and killed instantly. No time to say goodbye, no time to live out a life full of promise. Gabe was, and still is, my son, even in death. His murder left a hole in many, many lives that will never fully heal. But his life, though way too short, was good.
