On March 28 this year, it will be six years since my beloved daughter died of a self-inflicted gunshot to her head. She was smart and talented and beautiful and very funny. And troubled in a way nobody knew, including me. She had access to a reported “arsenal” of guns owned by her 22-year-old boyfriend. Clearly these guns were not securely stored. And who needs an arsenal of guns at 22 and someone not willing or able to be responsible about gun safety? She is gone; my life is shattered. There will never be joy or grandchildren or opportunity to make memories with her.
