My son, Jaron, was shot to death while standing inside his home. When I learned of this inconceivable act, I had absolutely no idea what to expect with his loss, or how all of us who loved him would find our ways through the seemingly endless grief. Yet now, even 14 years later, we continue to find new, beautiful and positive ways to remember him and all his special qualities. While our lives are changed forever without him, and we miss him so terribly every day, our love for him seems to grow. We remember his sweet smile, his inquisitive mind and his loyalty to everyone he cared about. We know he would want us to remember his sense of humor, his hopes and dreams, and how much he loved us. So that is what we do, and in so doing, we find comfort and even joyful moments. We miss you, Jaron!
