My name is Jenifer Redmond. I am the mother of Sarayah “Raya” Jade Redmond, who was only 19 years young when she was murdered by a senseless act of gun violence at the Creek Apartments, off West El Camino and Stonecreek Drive, in Sacramento, California, on September 25, 2020. She was innocently visiting a friend’s apartment and watching a movie when shots were fired into the apartment.

My daughter was one of two people shot. She did not survive, and the other person who was shot survived and has not spoken. Our community has failed by not speaking up. While the case is still under investigation for all persons responsible for this crime, one has been apprehended as of Nov 2022. We are currently awaiting a trial date. #justiceforsarayahjade #sarayahmatters.
