In honor of Jenny Shores Cashwell

Jenny Shores Cashwell was my friend, neighbor, my daughter Piper’s best friend’s mother, and our 4H leader. Jenny was murdered on January 12, 2019, in Bend, Oregon, by a man just having recently been flagged and reported to police by neighbors and a former girlfriend as unstable, overly aggressive and defensive of his gun rights after another woman reported that he pulled a gun on her. Jenny was a single mother of two young daughters when she was killed. Jenny was our former Ms. Rodeo Queen, 4H leader and a loyal contributing member of her community. Her murderer’s plea bargain will likely be accepted, and he will spend less than 10 years in prison, thereby likely released before her youngest daughter graduates high school in 2028. This is unjust and unacceptable.

Reacting shows support for gun violence survivors.
