Everything changed about the way I look at life, after my cousin’s son, Daniel, was killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
The chances of something like that happening were almost nonexistent, so I thought. I now realize how pervasive a problem it is and have been working with Moms Demand Action to try to change it.
My cousin, Mark, and his wife, Jackie, somehow live with the pain. But they will never be the same people as long as they live. It hurts me to think of the incredible sadness that follows them all the time.
