September 27, 1997 is the day my life turned upside down.
I was 17 and fearless until I walked out a door at a bowling alley and was hit by a stray bullet. One millimeter in any direction, and I would not be here today.
At the time I wished I didn’t make it because the fear and psychological aftermath was unbearable.
I was scared to leave my house, to go to school, loud noises, fireworks, thunder, etc. and the PAIN is something you just don’t get over.
