At the age of 19, my little brother easily bought a gun from a local pawn shop. Half an hour later, he was dead. He had been suffering from depression and found the easiest means to end his life.

My family has never owned any guns in the house, a rule implemented by my mother because mental illness runs in our family, and this was exactly what she was afraid of. But the fact that it is so easy to obtain guns, especially at a young age, and no other barriers besides money and an ID card, means that we lost him anyway.
