London Taylor was my absolute best friend. We joked around all the time and we play fought, back and forth, quite a bit. We were best friends in high school. She always had a bright and beautiful smile. She would always say “Hey Zachypoo” in the hallways, and she had energy that could uplift a room.
A few years ago, I received a phone call that I will never forget. London’s life was cut short by gun violence. She was in her home, and someone thought that a joke that she had shared was “distasteful,” so that person reached for their firearm and shot London directly in her chest twice.
My heart broke as soon as I received this phone call on February 17, 2019, and I will honestly never forget her or her energy or how much happiness she brought into my life.
I was a target of bullying in school, and she would always tell people to back off and leave me alone. She was my biggest ally and the best friend that everyone wishes they had. London, I love you and I miss you very much.
