In memory of Louise Zylwitis

My Aunt Weezie loved me before she knew me.

She lived and loved with all of her. My Aunt Louise was a free spirit. A free spirit who did magical things. She freed horses caged at the military base. She bought gas for countless strangers. She gave away her husband’s Porche … Most of all – SHE was my BIGGEST fan.

My Aunt Louise lived her entire life FIGHTING to survive a bipolar disorder that overtook her into hospitalization many, many times over.

I should have known that when she canceled Christmas, she was canceling more.

My Aunt Louise shot herself in the head, in her front yard, at her new home in Arizona. #MomentsThatSurvive: Her always being there — celebrating the things I do and all the things my art does.

Reacting shows support for gun violence survivors.
