While I was a traveling nurse during the COVID pandemic, out trying to save lives, two of my three sons were taken from me by gun violence. My baby boy, Artis Jordan, was only 22 when, on September 22, 2021, he was gunned down by a so-called friend. He had a two-year-old son, Karson Jordan. On April 8, 2023, my middle son, David Jordan, age 26, was taken by gun violence by a stranger after he had left a toxic relationship. His ex-girlfriend along with two other people were involved with his murder. I now only have my oldest son, Devyn, and my grandson, Karson. Artis was killed in Mississippi, and David was killed in Texas.
