My name is Carolyn, and my beautiful son, Sheldon, was a victim of homicide in March 2016. Sheldon was kind, loving and a scholar. He was my only child and such a gift from heaven. We had the best mom and son relationship ever, and I will forever cherish those sweet moments. His death, of course, has a great impact on my everyday life; however, my daily goal is to reclaim the happy part of me and hold on to our special connection. For the moms that have lost children, take it one day at a time and be patient with yourself.
