My brother, Jamie, aka “Herr Bishop,” was shot and killed while teaching his German students at Virginia Tech on April 16, 2007. Jamie was an outgoing young man who loved teaching others a language he had mastered. He also loved graphic design and photography and blessed others with his creations.
Jamie was my older brother and my best friend for the 33 years we shared time in this world. His violent and sudden death rattled us in unimaginable ways. We deeply loved him and miss him every day. Twelve years have passed, and the pain never goes away.
