My daughter Taya Ashton was robbed and murdered in her home, in Suitland, Maryland, on July 17, 2021, by someone she considered a friend. I pray that we stand on the gap and help to eliminate gun and domestic violence. It is a necessity to save our families, especially our children, who should outlive us. In honor of Taya, every year on July 17 I will be hosting a community event. I’m hoping we can band together to save our community, our children, our family and ourselves. Eliminate gun violence.
