My best friend, Branden Moss, was a loving father, a caring son, and a loyal friend. Moss had the brightest personality, and he could light up any room. His presence and warm spirit were easily felt, and people naturally gravitated toward him because of it. His endless jokes gave all of his friends and family enough laughs to last a lifetime.
On May 7, 2017, after celebrating the graduation of one of his close friends, Moss, who graduated from Hillcrest High School (with me) in 2012, died while helping a victim of a brutal beating. While trying to help the assault victim, Moss was shot several times and killed. This senseless act of violence is what drove my wife Bria and me to found Anderson’s League of Leaders, an organization dedicated to continuing Moss’ legacy. Since being founded, we have been committed to providing a helping hand in communities in Tuscaloosa, AL and Chicago, IL through various acts of service. In the short time since we started, Anderson’s League of Leaders has attracted volunteers, hosted back-to-school supply drives, given free haircuts, funded scholarships, and donated to nonprofits with similar missions, all in honor of Moss’ life.
