Join us on June 7-9th for Wear Orange, as we unite in our call to end gun violence and honor the more than 120 people who are shot and killed, and hundreds more who are wounded and traumatized, every day in our country. Read some of the stories of those affected by gun violence below.

My son Cortez Rivers was killed as a result of gun violence on September 20, 2014. My life has not been the same. Nine years later, and some days it feels like it just happened. I’m still trying to bounce back from his death. Some days I can’t seem to get out of bed. My heart aches for him. I think about him all the time. I miss him so much. I keep telling myself I’m not alone; there’s so many people going through this…

He was 16 years old when he was killed; as of now, today, it hurts. I must say – if you have a family member or friend you know of that has lost someone due to gun violence or was a victim of gun violence…check on your people. They will act like they are fine, but they can be going through it. This pain I know is everlasting; we just learn how to live with the hurt and pain. I have a nonprofit organization I’m working on called SAVE US FROM GUN VIOLENCE. I would love to help people who are suffering from gun violence, to let them know they are not alone.
