In memory of Ty-Key “Mr. Slugg Mode” Douglas

On December 17, 2011, Ty-Key was shot in an incident which also claimed the life of his best friend. Though Ty-Key survived, he lived with PTSD, depression, anxiety and survivor’s remorse. Five years after his attempted murder, Ty-Key died by gun suicide at only 22 years old.

Ty-Key was a very loving young man known to family and friends as “Mr. Slugg Mode”. He would give the most heartfelt hugs and kisses, always telling everyone he loved them. He was a living testimony to many, often sharing how he had overcome the traumatic experience. Ty-Key was a gifted writer, an amazing lyricist and a light to the world. He will be forever missed.

Reacting shows support for gun violence survivors.
