At just nine years old, I endured the unimaginable when my father was killed in a senseless act of gun violence. This tragic loss plunged me into a world of bitterness, anger, and resentment that lingered for nearly two decades. I struggled to navigate my emotions, feeling isolated and trapped by grief. It wasn’t until 20 years later that God placed a profound call on my heart to forgive the woman responsible for my father’s death.
Embracing this difficult but necessary step changed the trajectory of my life. Forgiveness became my pathway to healing, allowing me to release the weight of past pain that had burdened me for so long. Inspired by my journey, I founded the Raymond K. Jones Foundation, dedicated to supporting families directly impacted by gun violence.
Through this nonprofit, we provide essential resources, emotional support, and community connections to those facing similar struggles. Our mission is to honor my father’s legacy by empowering others to find hope and healing. We strive to transform grief into action, fostering understanding and compassion in our communities. I am proud to lead this vital work, helping families navigate their journeys toward healing and resilience.
