On Saturday, January 9, 2021 at approximately 4:35 a.m., Xzavier Hill was killed by two Virginia State Police officers in Goochland County, Virginia. He was only 18 years of age. Xzavier had the fundamental right to life and right to due process; the actions of the Virginia State Police deprived him of that.
The history of racism in America is creating a deadly foundation for our sons who don’t get to be Black men citizens who are protected by the Constitution. We though the Dred Scott decision was dismantled, but the way that officers are cleared based on their perceptions of our sons’ and daughters’ humanity brings question to that.
I am Xzavier’s mom, and I will always fight for justice and what is right!
